On August, 7th 2006, Macintosh has completely transitioned to Intel-based processor.
The first Macs with Intel processors were the iMac and MacBook Pro, both announced at the Macworld Conference and Expo in January 2006. And then followed by Mac Mini.
The move has proved to be spectacular for Apple. Finally Apple could show the world how superior OS X is compared to Windows XP on even playing field.
